Artist Concept Statement:
Ava really liked Explore Waterloo Region’s “We Are United” theme, so she wanted to represent that concept in her design.
Reason for Participating in Art Fresco Public Art Project:
Ava and her parents visit Waterloo Region often. When she heard of the Art Fresco Project, she thought it would be a fun, once in a lifetime chance to have her art appear on a piece that would be seen by many people.
Artist Background:
Ava is an 11 year old artist and fan of manga and animé. She spends her time drawing, painting, creating things and experimenting with pastels, acrylics and watercolours. Over the summer she attends camps at a local art store to learn new techniques with different materials.
