The Civic Holiday Weekend is almost here, and there are lots of ways to enjoy the long weekend in Waterloo Region! 

Why not plan a mid-summer getaway to the region, and take advantage of the Staycation Tax Credit? With everything there is to see and do here, the hardest part of your weekend will be narrowing down your choices!

WATERLOO REGION ATTRACTIONS 

Waterloo Region’s attractions are OPEN and ready to welcome you!  

Head out on safari at African Lion Safari and get closer than you ever imagined to over 1,000 exotic birds and animals! Cool off and dive into the fun at Bingemans Big Splash water park. Ride the zip line at Chicopee Tube, catch SPECTRUM | The 5 Senses at THEMUSEUM , get a taste of farm life (and walk an Alpaca!) at Udderly Ridiculous Farm Life.

And, all 4  Region of Waterloo Museum locations (Ken Seiling Region of Waterloo Museum, Doon Heritage Village, Schneider Haus National Historic Site, and McDougall Cottage Historic Site) are offering free admission on Saturday, July 30th!

INSIDER TIP: some attractions require you to purchase Timed Tickets in advance, so make sure you check their websites and social feeds ahead of time.

#WalkQueen is a celebration of Hespeler’s unique and intimate Village district in Cambridge. In addition to closing down the street for the weekend, local businesses, community groups and volunteers are collaborating by hosting festivals, events, performances and activities that are open, inclusive and free for everyone. 

The Art Market in Uptown Waterloo takes place Friday, July 29th and features artists, crafters, and makers from Waterloo and surrounding area selling outside at the Waterloo Public Square.

#EXPLOREWR SPORTS & OUTDOORS 

Fastball fans can take in some of the top fastball teams in the world at the Peter Hallman Memorial Fastball Tournament July 29-31 in Kitchener.  

The Kitchener Panthers are in action against the London Majors Sunday, July 31st at 2PM at Jack Couch Park. Tickets are available on the Panther’s website.  

Walk your way through Waterloo Region on one of our many scenic parks and trails this weekend. Prefer two wheels? Waterloo Region has plenty of cycling trails too!
