Artist Concept Statement:
SalomĂ©’s concept was to make the artwork a representation of flowers in the garden, which gives a refreshing perspective on people’s environments that puts them at ease. In this difficult time, people have come together by enjoying and sharing their gardens when residents walk around.
Reason for Participating in Art Fresco Public Art Project:
Salomé wanted to share her passion for nature and flowers through this creative project of painting a picnic table as part of this celebration of Waterloo Region.
Artist Background:
Art has been Salomé’s lifelong passion. She has taken art classes in México and in Canada with established artists, and her work has been exhibited in several galleries and public spaces. Her work is inspired by nature, people, ideas, emotions and animals, and has developed from impressionistic to abstract styles in different media. One of her major interests is doing portraits. Salomé teaches a variety of art classes to both adults and children such as drawing, sculpture and mixed media.
