Earth Day in Waterloo Park

April 20 @ 10:00 am - April 28 @ 12:00 pm

Celebrate Earth Day® with Friends of Waterloo Park at our 2nd annual event in Waterloo Park.

Learn about our environment and participate in the activities outlined below:
Earth Day Community Clean-up: Let’s keep Waterloo Park looking its best – participate in our community litter clean-up! Special red bags and cloth gloves are provided. Please wear closed-toe footwear and long pants/sleeves.

Educational Activities: Bring your old electronics to find out from the 4RepairKW experts to see if they can be repaired and learn more about the lending library and how a sharing economy works from the KW Library of Things.

E-waste Collection: homeowners and businesses can drop off their old or broken electronics for recycling. All recycling proceeds will go towards installing new musical play elements to the play area along the Father David Bauer Dr park frontage.
Accepted e-waste includes: computers and accessories, laptops, monitors, telephones, cell phones, batteries, televisions, fax machines, printers, scanners, AV equipment, recorders, cameras, radios, stereos, receivers, video consoles and accessories – basically any electronics that can be plugged in! The event will be held at Picnic Shelter #6 in Waterloo Park on the west side. Parking is available via the Westmount Road Entrance.

In the event of severe weather (heavy rain/wind or thunderstorms) this event will be cancelled.
