Empty Bowls 2023
May 31 @ 11:30 am
Robert Langen Art Gallery, in collaboration with the Food Bank of Waterloo Region and Waterloo Potters’ Workshop, is excited to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Empty Bowls in support of the Food Bank.
Empty Bowls raises awareness about food insecurity and hunger in our community. Spearheaded in 1998 by the Waterloo Potters’ Workshop, this charitable initiative has provided more than 1.1 million meals to those in need.
By purchasing a ticket for $50, you are helping to provide 100 meals to people in Waterloo Region accessing food assistance supports and programs. All guests receive a handmade bowl created by a member of the Waterloo Potters’ Workshop and a delicious meal of soup and bread.
For this special anniversary event, we are pleased to welcome Métis Chef Sydney Keedwell of White Owl Native Ancestry Association and Aadanjige Café and Catering, to share a special recipe and insight on food insecurity.
