Robin Jessome’s Birth of the Cool Orchestra
Local trombonist and band leader brings together an exciting 9-piece ensemble to recreate the classic Miles Davis album along with other “cool” inspired arrangements.
Featuring musicians from Kitchener/Waterloo, Guelph, and Toronto the unique group showcases the “chamber-jazz” sound pioneered by the compositions and arrangements of Gil Evans and Gerry Mulligan that spearheaded the “cool” style of the 1950’s.
Presented by the Grand River Jazz Society.
