SUMMARY:Pottery Workshop: Handmade Ceramic Diwali Diyas
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the festival of lights by handbuilding your own ceramic lamps! In this hands-on pottery workshop\, you’ll shape and carve your own diyas\, with the option to add traditional symbols like Shree\, Om\, and the Swastik\, or personalize your piece with your own designs. Use it as a diya on its own or as a diya holder\, ready to glow warmly with a candle or tea light. No pottery experience needed and no cultural background required\, just curiosity and a willingness to get your hands a little messy. Unlike disposable clay diyas\, these are made to last\, a one of a kind piece made by your own hands that you can bring out every year to light up your mandir\, home altar\, or festive tablescape. Your finished piece will be professionally glazed and kiln-fired in our studio\, ready for pickup in two weeks. Create. Carve. Celebrate.

SUMMARY:Kids Halloween Discovery Lab
DESCRIPTION:Waterloo kids\, get ready for a fun spooky event! Will there be worms? Yes. Will there be skeletons? Also yes. Will your child want to touch everything? Very likely. This Halloween\, Smartizen is turning learning into a spooky little adventure. This is a timed event\, 1h long\, starting every hour from 10am to 4pm. Kids will explore a mix of sensory play\, creative riddles\, and Halloween surprises designed for curious little hands and brave little minds. One of the special highlights is our Halloween henna tattoo station\, where children can choose a fun spooky design to wear for the day. They’ll also get to dig into skeleton sensory bins\, discover worms frozen in ice\, explore hand-shaped ice bags\, try pumpkin hammering\, pop balloons\, and enjoy other Halloween-themed crafts. And of course\, no Halloween adventure is complete without a few treats. For toddlers and preschoolers\, this is a kids-only experience\, giving children a chance to explore independently in a small\, supervised group while parents enjoy a little break. For infants\, parents stay and join the fun with gentle sensory activities like our spider discovery box and squishy pumpkin play. Come curious. Get a little messy. Leave with a spooky tattoo\, happy memories\, and probably a story about the worms. 🎃👻Costumes are welcome\, but not required. Spaces are limited due to our small-group format.

SUMMARY:The Buena Vista Orchestra
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the irresistible rhythms and timeless melodies of Cuba as The Buena Vista Orchestra takes the stage in a spectacular tribute to one of the most celebrated musical movements in the world. Often associated with the legendary Buena Vista Social Club tradition\, this acclaimed ensemble brings together an extraordinary lineup of musicians who have performed with icons such as Celia Cruz\, Omara Portuondo\, Chucho Valdés\, Willie Colón\, and the Afro-Cuban All Stars. Together they honour the rich musical heritage that introduced audiences worldwide to the soulful sounds of son\, bolero\, and Afro-Cuban jazz. At the heart of the orchestra is virtuoso Cuban violinist Rolando Morejón Reyes\, a celebrated bandleader whose remarkable career includes performing with artists and ensembles such as Omara Portuondo\, Oscar D’León\, Cachao López\, and the Orquesta de Enrique Jorrín. Joining him is a stellar group of internationally respected musicians\, including trumpeter Antonio Perigo\, percussionist Miguel Valdés\, pianist Helder Rojas\, trombonist Yosmel Garceran\, and Latin Grammy–nominated percussionist Pepe Espinosa\, among others.   Together\, they deliver a vibrant concert experience filled with dazzling solos\, irresistible rhythms\, and the joyful energy that has captivated audiences across the globe. The Buena Vista musical legacy has sold millions of records\, inspired documentaries and theatrical productions\, and continues to introduce new generations to the beauty and passion of Cuban music.   This is more than a concert. It is a celebration of a cultural phenomenon that has become the most beloved and internationally recognized Cuban music project of all time.
