DESCRIPTION:Get creative with glass! Make your choice of a coaster OR window hanging. Each ticket includes 1 kiln-fired glass item. Our instructor will give a brief lesson on fused glass\, and the rest of the time is yours to create a one-of-a-kind artwork! Get creative with colour and texture to create a unique\, functional piece of art. During the workshop\, please photograph your artwork so you can identify it when it comes out of the kiln.  Artwork Pickup + Kiln Firing:Items will be kiln fired after the workshop by our team of studio technicians. You will be emailed 4-6 weeks after the workshop when items are ready for pick up. You can also check our website here to see if your pieces are ready to be picked up. DESCRIPTION:The Cambridge Art Link is a city-wide art walk and interactive exhibition transforming Cambridge into a living\, walkable gallery from May 1 to August 31\, 2026. Presented by the Preston Arts Collective\, this year’s theme\, “Botanicals: Rooted in Creativity\,” is supported by Lennox & Penney (Cambridgelaw.ca). Featuring 17 local artists and installed across 10 vibrant exhibiting locations\, original works appear in cafés\, breweries\, restaurants\, and community spaces throughout Galt\, Preston\, and Hespeler\, turning everyday stops into unexpected moments of art and discovery. Visitors are invited to take part in a passport experience: pick up a passport\, explore participating venues\, uncover artwork across the city\, and collect stamps along the way. Completed passports are eligible for prizes and invitations to a September artist meet and greet. The project is designed to pull people out of routine and into movement through the city\, encouraging discovery while supporting local artists and small businesses. Most artworks are available for purchase. The program culminates in a wrap-up exhibition and artist meet and greet at Mood Yellow Gallery in Preston\, where all featured works will come together for a final celebratory showcase.

We’ll start by creating a soft\, textured element using upcycled fabric or t-shirt material\, which you’ll cut and braid before attaching it to your charm ring. From there\, you’ll explore basic jewelry-making techniques—learning how to use tools like pliers\, crimpers\, and jump rings to attach beautiful beads to wire. Next\, you’ll design another charm element using thicker cord and statement beads for a bold\, layered look. To finish it off\, you’ll add chain segments and charms\, connecting everything together to create a dynamic\, multi-textured piece. Throughout the workshop\, you’ll have access to a large selection of beads\, charms\, chains\, and repurposed materials to make your charm truly one-of-a-kind. You’ll also learn tips for sourcing and transforming thrifted jewelry—like old necklaces—into new creative pieces.
