We’re back after a mini hiatus (sorry! had important family stuff going on) and we are kicking off return on May 22nd at 6pm (a bit of an earlier start this time). SUMMARY:Sgraffito on Glass
DESCRIPTION:Get creative with contrast! Layer and scratch off glass paint to reveal a unique composition on a glass base of your choice. Sgraffito (Italian for “to scratch”)\, is a ceramics decoration technique involving scratching through a top layer of pigment to reveal a contrasting color underneath. This workshop invites you to explore the use of this technique on the surface of fusable glass using Glassline paints. Each ticket includes a 4″ x 4″ square base of opaque or cathedral glass (available in a variety of translucent colours)\, glassline paint\, all tools needed to complete the project\, and kiln firing service after the workshop to seal in your design. At the kiln firing stage\, we will add a top piece of 4″ x 4″ clear glass to encase your design between the layers. After firing\, each piece will be perfectly flat & can be used functionally as a coaster.Want to make a second piece? A second coaster add on is availble to purcase with your base ticket for $40+hst and Eventbrite fees. Artwork Pickup + Kiln Firing:Items will be kiln fired after the workshop by our team of studio technicians. You will be emailed 4-6 weeks after the workshop when items are ready for pick up. The 1 km walk or run will begin at 11:45 AM\, perfect for a fun and accessible route\, followed by the 5 km walk or run at 12:00 PM for those ready to take on the full experience. And the fun does not stop at the finish line. This year’s event is packed with activities for everyone to enjoy\, including face painting\, lawn games\, a raffle\, and so much more.
