As the night unfolds\, family wounds surface\, cultural tensions flare\, and a jerk chicken casserole becomes the final straw in Sam’s fractured sense of identity. Between bedroom fights\, hair tangles\, a secret unconscious boyfriend\, and a Mennonite bakery heist\, Sam is forced to confront what it really means to belong\, to her Black Caribbean heritage\, her White mother\, her friends\, her city\, and herself. Sharp\, funny\, and heartfelt\, mixed(er) is a story about identity\, family\, friendship\, and the messy\, hilarious journey of figuring out where you fit.
