Lumen Lite is moving to an online format with Lumen at Home. The event will take place online from September 26 to October 26, 2020.
While Canada’s largest Bavarian Festival is taking a different form this year, Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest is committed to bringing as much of your favourite festival to you through virtual events, small gatherings and some very special contests. Onkel Hans, Tante Frieda and Oktoberfest Ambassador (Erin Wetzel) encourage everyone to don your Tracht, raise a stein, enjoy delicious Bavarian cuisine, polka, and toast all that you love about Bavarian culture and our communities. Bring the celebration home with Oktoberfest in a Box!
Here’s to good times and good cheer, and to being back together next year. PROST!
This live stream will be jammed packed full of Oktoberfest-themed entertainment including The Golden Keys, The Black Forest Band, The Seven Castles, and other Festhalle favourites. There will also be programming for the entire family to enjoy.
This event is FREE with a donation to the Onkel Hans Food Drive which benefits the Food Bank of Waterloo Region.
While there won’t be a live parade this year, you can enjoy this nostalgic special look back at the annual Oktoberfest parade over the last 50 years. Gather the family around, break out your souvenir steins, enjoy a schnitzel, and parade down memory lane!
From September 25th to October 12th, get your festival on at one of the region’s “Micro-Festhallen”. Participating restaurants from around the region will feature live Oktoberfest entertainment, Oktoberfest food specials and beer pairings, prize programs and maybe even a visit from the keg tapping team or Onkel Hans! Mask up and come celebrate!
