The Waterloo Busker Carnival is fun for the whole family. Enjoy the carnival-like atmosphere while visiting the midway, explore delicious foods and watch world-class one-of-a-kind performers that are sure to amaze, excite and inspire!
Started in 1989 as a celebration of the Waterloo Chamber of Commerce’s 100th anniversary, the carnival has grown and flourished each year. It is considered to be one of the premier busker carnivals not just in Canada but around the world. Past performers include mimes, jugglers, stilt walkers, acrobats, balloon artists, magicians, musicians, human statues and fire performers. Each year the carnival includes a combination of fan favourites from previous years, as well as new acts to entertain the crowds.
The popular Festival of Fools opens the festivities the night before the carnival begins, and is an evening of fun and food, together with a silent auction. It’s also an opportunity to get up close and personal with the Busker lineup before they hit the streets of Uptown Waterloo.
The Sun Life Financial Waterloo Busker Carnival is a not-for-profit, volunteer operated busker festival. Volunteer opportunities can be found on the Busker Carnival website.
