The Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum is the largest community museum in Ontario. It consists of two indoor museum galleries, as well as Doon Heritage Village, a 60 acre living history exhibit.

The museum’s main gallery provides visitors with a look at Waterloo Region’s history. Local artifacts have been collected since 1912, and are preserved and stored in the museum’s Curatorial Centre.

The Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum’s feature gallery showcases local and travelling exhibits from around the world. Interactive and educational, these exhibits are designed to engage visitors and create an understanding of the Region’s place in the world past, present and future.

Doon Heritage Village is a living history village, where visitors can experience what life in Waterloo Region was like in 1914. The village interpreters are dressed in period costumes, and carry out typical daily routines for the time. The village also features historic buildings, farm animals and hands on activities for the entire family. Doon Heritage is open seasonally from May through December.

Also at The Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum is the Waterloo Region Hall of Fame, which recognizes individuals and groups for significant contributions to the community. More than 400 recipients have been inducted into the hall of fame since its inception in 1972.
