Table Location:
Wilhelm’s Café + Bar
693 Belmont Avenue West, Kitchener, ON N2M 1P1
Artist Concept Statement:
Michelle’s concept for her table was to continue to inspire our community to live as one. Cherry blossom trees are prominent throughout Waterloo Region. The tree and root system flow over the picnic table, representing our roots within the community that branches out into full bloom.
Reason for Participating in Art Fresco Public Art Project:
Participating in the Art Fresco Project was important to Michelle so she could continue to feel a part of the community. She wanted to contribute to the expression of community in an inspiring way, and collaborating with other artists on the project was a great way to feel connected.
Artist Background:
Michelle has been been running her own art business called M.K Art & Graphics for three years, and has created a variety of works for clients including building picnic tables. She has also taught several artisan workshops and art classes for all ages and abilities, and her work is on exhibit in several businesses in the Region.
