NAME OF PROJECT

Artist: Maia Lynch

Table Location:

Artist Concept Statement:
Maia’s vision for the concept was to embrace the theme as a true celebration with balloons, fireworks, rainbows, confetti and other party items.
Reason for Participating in Art Fresco Public Art Project:
Maia thought that the Art Fresco Project would be an excellent opportunity for her to give back to her community and to be a part of showing how cool Waterloo Region is! The Region is home to so much history, diversity, and unique events, and she hoped to celebrate this in a fun, whimsical way.
Artist Background:
Maia is turning 12 in a few weeks and has been an artist since she was in Kindergarten. Her teacher recognized her talent and with the encouragement of her family, she enrolled in art classes at Globe Studios at the age of 9. She has had several of her pieces displayed at the Uptown Gallery in Waterloo and enjoys working with various media including acrylics, watercolours, pastels, pencil crayon and markers. One of her fondest memories was having had the opportunity to be councillor for the day in Waterloo as a Grade 5 student last year. Maia also loves to play tennis!
