Artist Concept Statement:
Moumita’s design concepts represent the idea of diversity and peaceful coexistence. The idea of unity in diversity is a belief which has been reiterated at different points in history and still needs to be emphasized through our conversations, culture and art.
Reason for Participating in Art Fresco Public Art Project:
Moumita is a Waterloo based artist who has been actively participating in various exhibitions and art projects over the last few years, and more recently started teaching art. She found the Art Fresco Project to be an exciting opportunity for artists to share their artistic expression in the public space, and a way to bring the artist and the audience closer together, proving the importance of art in the public domain.
Artist Background:
Moumita works in multiple media including watercolours, acrylics, and pastels, and loves bringing the various moods of nature and humans to life through her art. She has been practicing art for the last 5 years in the region, exhibiting at various shows and has won several awards. She loves painting live in front of an audience and has won some prestigious Live Art events like The Brush Off and Art Battle. Currently she is a teacher of art, trying to share her passion for art with children, youth and adults.
