Immerse yourself in a world of creativity and craftsmanship as WEFTFest proudly presents its 3rd annual Fibre Arts Festival.
From May 15th to 19th, 2025, fibre enthusiasts, artisans, and the community at large are invited to experience five days of inspiration, education, and celebration at this one-of-a-kind festival.
WEFTFest is a vibrant celebration of fibre arts, weaving together the rich tapestry of creativity and craftsmanship in Waterloo Region Visitors are welcome to learn about local guilds, vote
on their favourite quilt and explore the diverse group of artists who sell supplies, art and their unique fashion designs.
FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS:
Quilt of Belonging: A must see for all, this collaborative textile art piece spans 120 feet and is a collection of 263 blocks, each made by an Indigenous or immigrant to Canada. The Quilt of Belonging recognizes Canada’s diversity and celebrates our common humanity while promoting harmony and compassion among people.
Quilt Display: Marvel at the intricate designs and impeccable craftsmanship of local quilters. Sponsored by Len’s Mill Stores, visitors can vote for their favourite quilt in the People’s Choice Award.
Vendors’ Market & Guild Show: Explore a diverse array of vendors offering unique fibre art supplies and creations.
Speaker Series: Dive deeper into the world of fibre arts with engaging demonstrations and talks led by local artisans and experts. From hands-on demonstrations to insightful discussions, there’s something for every skill level and interest.
Artistic Apparel Fashion Show Opening Event: Experience the creativity and innovation of local designers at the Artistic Apparel Fashion Show. This event opens the festival with an evening of entertainment. Starting with dinner and the fashion show, guests will be able to participate in a fibre arts auction while they have early access to the vendors and get a sneak peek of the Quilt of Belonging.
The entire event is held at St. George Banquet Hall, at 665 King St. N., Waterloo, 5 minutes from the St. Jacobs Market District.
