Artist Concept Statement:
August’s work is generally “outdoorsy” in nature. Residents of Waterloo Region are very much in tune with outdoor activities, and his artwork tries to convey that simple “get outdoors” message.

Reason for Participating in Art Fresco Public Art Project:
Having his artwork around the city makes August feel a part of things, and he views the Art Fresco Project as a way to stay in touch with the community.

Artist Background:
August has been drawing since he was a child and his art reflects his background as a First Nations artist. He studied Graphic Design at George Brown College, and most of his working life has in some way or other involved graphics.
