Big LITTLE Concerts

The Gryphon Trio, one of Canada’s most celebrated chamber ensembles, is joined by acclaimed clarinetist James Campbell for a performance of Olivier Messiaen’s Quatuor pour la fin du temps (Quartet for the End of Time) — one of the most powerful and moving works in the chamber music repertoire. Written while Messiaen was a prisoner of war, the piece is widely considered a masterpiece of 20th-century music. This concert closes out NYO Canada’s free big LITTLE Concert Series.
