Day 2: Waterloo Region Women’s Municipal Campaign School

Day 2 of the Waterloo Region Women’s Campaign School is a full-day, hands-on training designed to help you move from “I think I might do this” to “Here’s how I’m going to do it.”
This is a non-partisan, practical experience for women who are ready to take the next step — not just to explore the idea of running, but to start building a campaign.
You’ll spend the day learning from people who understand what it actually takes to run — and win — a local campaign.
We’ll focus on the real work behind the scenes: how to plan your campaign, connect with voters, build a team, and communicate your message with clarity and confidence.
Together, we’ll walk through:
– How to map out your campaign and timelines
– What effective voter outreach really looks like
– The fundamentals of fundraising and budgeting
– How to work with media and tell your story
– Building a strong social media presence
– Preparing for debates and public conversations
– Recruiting and managing a campaign team
This event is for you if:
– You’ve decided to run — or are very close
– You want to understand what it really takes to run a campaign
– You’re ready to move from thinking to doing
– You’re looking for tools, structure, and support
What you’ll leave with:
– A clearer plan. Practical tools. And the confidence to take your next step. This is where “maybe” turns into momentum.
