Whether you’re coming solo, with friends, or with a special someone, this beginner-friendly session is the perfect way to unwind, get a little messy, and create a one-of-a-kind piece of pottery—no experience needed.
In this 2-hour workshop, professional ceramics teacher Sarah will guide you step-by-step through making your very own heart-shaped mug using the coil technique. You’ll learn the basics of coil construction, shaping, surface design, and how to embrace the perfectly imperfect charm of handmade pottery.
We’ll kick things off by exploring what inspires our creativity (pets, pop culture, nature—it all counts!), then you’ll shape your mug, add a stamped phrase or custom detail, and choose your glaze finish before we fire your creation to perfection. Take home a mug that’s full of heart—made by you! Finished mugs will be ready for pickup 2–4 weeks after the workshop. All tools, clay, and materials are provided—just bring your imagination and your favorite people.
