Oktoberfest Steins

Your instructor will lead you in making hand-built steins using the slab construction method.

Carve, stamp, and appliqué your steins to create 3D designs. Then, customize your finish by painting it with underglazes!

Your stein will be foodsafe, dishwasher safe, and microwave safe. Perfect for any beverage!

Please take a photograph of your stein at the end of the workshop to help you identify it at pickup. Sometimes colours change and things can look a bit different when they come out of the kiln.
Your Stein will not be ready by the end of Oktoberfest. The thick steins require a longer drying time before firing.

Getting to the Workshop:
Please note, the gallery will already be closed at the start of the workshop. Please come to the classroom entrance at the back of the building. Look for the stairs between the parking lot and rec path.
If you require an accessible entrance, please email [email protected] by September 30th, so that we can have a staff member ready to meet you there.

After the Workshop + Pickup:
The ceramic artworks will be fired in a kiln at the gallery. Approximately 4-6 weeks after the workshop, you will receive an email when they are ready to be picked up.
After 6 weeks, if you have not received a pickup email, please send a photograph of your piece to [email protected]
Our self-serve pickup area is located in the coatroom, between the front desk and washrooms.

The Steins will not be ready by the end of Oktoberfest 2026.
