Sgraffito on Glass

Get creative with contrast! Layer and scratch off glass paint to reveal a unique composition on a glass base of your choice.
Sgraffito (Italian for “to scratch”), is a ceramics decoration technique involving scratching through a top layer of pigment to reveal a contrasting color underneath. This workshop invites you to explore the use of this technique on the surface of fusable glass using Glassline paints.
Each ticket includes a 4″ x 4″ square base of opaque or cathedral glass (available in a variety of translucent colours), glassline paint, all tools needed to complete the project, and kiln firing service after the workshop to seal in your design.
At the kiln firing stage, we will add a top piece of 4″ x 4″ clear glass to encase your design between the layers. After firing, each piece will be perfectly flat & can be used functionally as a coaster.
Want to make a second piece? A second coaster add on is availble to purcase with your base ticket for $40+hst and Eventbrite fees.
