Canoeing the Grand

Canoeing the Grand offers canoeing, kayaking, or tubing down the scenic Grand River, or on Lake Victoria in  Kitchener’s Victoria Park. Paddleboats are also available in Victoria Park.

They offer trips ranging in time from 90 minutes to eight hours. Distances range from seven to 38 kilometres, or up to 20 kilometres for trips including a portage. Tubing is only offered along the shortest stretch of river (seven kilometres), and is the perfect way to enjoy the river with friends and family who like to take it slow!

Canoes, kayaks, tandem kayaks, tubes, and paddleboats are all available. The canoes are flat-bottomed and stable, and their capacity is 800 pounds. While they do permit bringing your own canoe instead of renting one, they recommend using the boats provided, as they are designed to take the impact of the rocky bed of the Grand River.

Planning a group team building event? They can help with that! For almost 30 years Canoeing the Grand has been helping companies celebrate, reward and bond with their team, all the while showcasing the pastoral view that captured Homer Watson's heart. They can work with groups 2-400 without blinking! There are also several catering options including having your own chef or picnic in their humble but quaint picnic area.
