Dog Friendly KW is a non-profit corporation dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive dog-friendly community. Through their vision to create safe and inclusive dog friendly spaces, they have made the Waterloo Region a destination for dog owners across Ontario. Founded in 2020, Dog Friendly KW has grown to include a small board of directors and a team of almost 25 volunteers. The organization engages and supports local small businesses while promoting responsible dog ownership through education, community events, and resources such as a podcast and a quarterly community guide.
2023 events include:
- Barks & Brews – a free weekly patio meet up every Thursday from 5-7 pm from May 25 until August 31. Pop by after work, grab a beverage, soak up the sunshine with your pup and mix & mingle with local dog owners!
- Pupilates | Pups & Poses – features local yoga and pilates instructors and offers an opportunity to have your dog coexist in a calm state while you enjoy a yoga & pilates practice. The event is dog-friendly, but you don’t have to have a pup to join, all welcome! Tuesdays from June 13 – August 15
