Hespeler Reunion Community Festival

The Hespeler Reunion is a cherished community tradition with roots dating back to 1906, when it first began as the “Old Boys Reunion.” Originally held every 20 years, the event paused after the towns of Hespeler, Galt, and Preston amalgamated to form Cambridge in 1973. In 1996, a group of proud Hespeler residents revived the celebration, and it has since returned every 10 years, bringing generations together to reconnect and celebrate all things Hespeler.

While it’s called a reunion, the event is truly a vibrant, three-day community festival. Festivities kick off Friday with an alumni hockey game followed by a lively homecoming dance. Saturday features a full day of activities including a parade, car show, live music, beverage tent, kids’ zone, baseball tournament, midway, vendor market, soapbox derby, and more. On Sunday, the celebration continues with a family-focused day in a new park, offering children’s entertainment, live music, baseball finals, and additional food and beverage options.

Throughout the weekend, local organizations and community spaces join in the celebration with open houses and special programming, from the fire hall and library to churches, the tennis club, and recreational activities like pickleball and open swim. With visitors travelling from near and far, the Hespeler Reunion continues to grow as a meaningful and memorable event for all ages.
