Schnurr’s Grocery

Established in 1858 and in its current building since 1911, Schnurr’s Store in Linwood has been operated by four consecutive generations of one family for 165 years making it Canada’s oldest family run grocery store.

The old-time general store feeling, once common across rural Ontario, is still apparent with original pressed tin ceiling, wooden floors and shelving along the outer walls.

A variety of locally sourced goods from smaller independent businesses are available along with a regular line of groceries.

The Guelph to Goderich (G2G) trail passes through Linwood
allowing a quick side trip to Schnurr’s Store while cycling through the rural countryside of Wellesley Township.
