Experience live jazz in the heart of Uptown Waterloo at The Jazz Room, presented by the Grand River Jazz Society (GRJS). Located inside the historic Huether Hotel, The Jazz Room is a dedicated live music venue showcasing exceptional local, Canadian and international jazz performers.
Performances take place Friday and Saturday nights throughout the regular season, with select Thursday Soul and R&B shows and special Sunday matinee performances. With a diverse lineup of talented musicians, The Jazz Room offers an intimate setting to enjoy live music in Waterloo.
The venue is operated by the Grand River Jazz Society, a registered charity with a dual mandate to support exceptional musicians from the local community while bringing talented performers from across Canada and around the world to the Waterloo Region.
Beyond its regular performances, the GRJS supports the local music community through outreach and education programs. Free Jazz Jams are held on two Saturdays each month during the regular season, giving both emerging and experienced musicians the opportunity to play together in a live music setting. The society also provides funding to select music educators to lead performance workshops at two area high schools with specialized performing arts programs.
The Grand River Jazz Society is supported through ticket sales, corporate sponsorships, government grants and tax-deductible donations, helping to keep live jazz and music education thriving in Waterloo Region
