About This Mistletoe: Sacred Gatherings
T.J. Henhawk’s design reimagines mistletoe through the lens of Indigenous teachings and connection to the land. Cedar, sage, and sweetgrass—sacred medicines known for their powers of protection, cleansing, and renewal—are woven together with leather accents that honour traditional practices of binding and carrying medicines with care.
Suspended in a sculptural mistletoe form, the piece becomes a gathering point that invites reflection, conversation, and curiosity. By day, its natural textures and organic form celebrate beauty and tradition; by night, it glows as a beacon of warmth and togetherness. Blending cultural storytelling with contemporary design, Sacred Gatherings embodies the spirit of the Mistletoe Trail—welcoming everyone to pause, connect, and stay curious.
