Getting to Waterloo Region

By Air

The Region of Waterloo international Airport (YKF) is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and enjoyable airport experience for all. 
YKF provides a wide variety of accessible services and facilities designed to enable more choice and greater independence as you travel through the airport. Details on accessibility options are available on the YKF website.

By Rail

VIA Rail aims to ensure the greatest ease and comfort of travel and offers special assistance services. Details on accessibility options available at the Kitchener station are available on the VIA website.

GOTransit offers daily train service to and from its Kitchener station and is committed to making its services as easy to use as possible for everyone.

By Bus

GoTransit offers daily bus service with several stops in Waterloo Region (view GoTransit’s website to see the schedule). To help make trip planning easier you can use AccessNow to find detailed information and photos for all GO stations.

Getting around Waterloo Region

Grand River Transit (GRT) buses: All of GRT’s conventional buses are accessible, low-floor buses. All buses are equipped with ramps, so passengers with mobility devices like canes, walkers, wheelchairs or small scooters can board the bus on a gentle incline. GRT buses are also equipped with interior and exterior audio announcements.

ION Light Rail Transit: ION light rail travels between Waterloo and Kitchener, with a total of 19 stations along the route. Information on accessibility services on ION trains can be found on the GRT website under the Riding the Train dropdown menu.
