Syrup, Sausages, and Six Generations of Heart: A Taste of Snyder Heritage Farms

For over 150 years, the Snyder family has been tapping trees, tending flocks, and nurturing the land just outside of the small community of Bloomingdale in Waterloo Region. Today, Snyder Heritage Farms continues that tradition with a fresh, thoughtful approach to farming—and a whole lot of maple magic.

Now in its sixth generation, the farm is best known for its certified organic maple syrup, produced using time-honoured practices together with modern innovations. Whether it’s their signature mason jars filled with golden maple syrup, their granulated maple sugar, or their maple candy floss (yes, it’s as delightful as it sounds!), each product is pure, simple, and crafted with care.

Beyond maple syrup, Snyder Heritage Farms also raises GMO- and drug-free turkeys right on the farm. They grow their own feed, mix in essential nutrients, and offer everything from ground turkey to four kinds of additive-free turkey sausages. Add in sustainably harvested firewood and seasonal hay and straw, and it’s clear this farm blends purpose with practicality.

For visitors on the Fields & Flavours Trail, Snyder Heritage Farms is a reminder that great food starts with integrity—and often, with a deep-rooted family story. They’re proud to serve a region where the countryside and city are just a short drive apart, making it easy for visitors to enjoy fresh, wholesome products direct from the source.

So whether you’re picking up maple syrup for your pancakes, sausage for the grill, or a sweet treat to take home, a stop at Snyder Heritage Farms is warm, welcoming, and always delicious. Be sure to visit them on the Fields & Flavours Trail!
