Woolwich Stop – Harvest

Elise Conlin’s mistletoe is a playful, three-dimensional celebration of gathering and growth. A mobile of birds and berries, it captures the magic of the season and invites visitors to pause and enjoy a sweet moment.

Elise Conlin is a Waterloo Region–born artist and illustrator with experience in murals, public art, and 3D installations.

Growing up in Elmira near the Kissing Bridge Trail, she spent her childhood exploring local trails and meeting places that inspired her creative practice.

Her work celebrates nature, joy, and vibrant color, blending illustrative detail with playful, interactive elements.

Elise remains deeply connected to her roots in Waterloo Region, drawing on personal memories and local landscapes to inform her art.

Elise’s mistletoe creation is a 3D mobile featuring four birds – a robin, warbler, mourning dove, and bluebird – meeting mid-flight, each carrying mistletoe and converging in the centre.

These local birds play a role in the proliferation of the mistletoe plant, while also representing a community coming to a gathering place. Freshwater pearls represent the berries, symbolizing love.

Crafted from laser-cut wood, latex, and spray paint, the piece balances whimsy and durability, while representing themes of gathering, planting, and celebration.
