About This Mistletoe: Harvest
Elise’s mistletoe creation is a 3D mobile featuring four birds – a robin, warbler, mourning dove, and bluebird – meeting mid-flight, each carrying mistletoe and converging in the centre like a vintage Christmas ornament.
These local birds play a role in the proliferation of the mistletoe plant, while also representing a community coming to a gathering place. Freshwater pearls represent the berries, symbolizing love.
Crafted from laser-cut wood, latex, and spray paint, the piece balances whimsy and durability, while representing themes of gathering, planting, and celebration.
About the Location: TriSister Art House
TriSisters Art House is an arts and culture complex in the heart of the Village of St. Jacobs. Open to the public, TriSisters provides an opportunity to meet and interact with artists, participate in workshops and purchase unique and local artisanal items.
